Aggreko was founded in 1962 in The Netherlands. Over the
last 45 years the company has gone from strength to strength, to
where it is today with its presence in 31 countries and
employing more than 3,500 people.

1984
Aggreko became a wholly-owned subsidiary of publicly traded
Salveson Group
1986
Entered U.S. Power rental through acquisition of Electric Rental
Systems Inc.
1987
Entered the temperature control rental business through the
acquisition of Mobile Air and Pierce Industrial in the US
1989
Entry into the Asia Pacific region with acquisition of Yeow Kong
Electrical Company in Singapore
1991
Aggreko opened first permanent facility in Middle East.
Started Temperature Control Applications in Europe
1996
Launch of Oil Free Air Compressor Rental in North America
1997
De-merged from the Salvesen Group to become a separately quoted plc
on the London Stock Exchange
1998
Aggreko International Projects (AIP) was created to coordinate
power projects, based in Jebel Ali, Dubai
2000
Temperature Control Services was launched in Middle East
2001
Aggreko opens its first operation in South America, through
Uruguay
2002
Starts operations in Brazil and opens its first Depot in Macaé
2003
First AIP Project in South America - Venezuela
2004
Aggreko established in Tunis, Nigeria and China
2005
Launch of Gas Power generators
2006
Aggreko Internacional breaks record on hiring 1270 of 1250 kVA’s
generators. Aggreko acquires GE Energy
Rentals and opens Manaus Depot in
Brazil
2007
New Depots in Santiago de Chile and Campinas, Brazil were
opened
2008
Starts Operations in Argentina. Beijing 2008 Temporary Power and
Temperature Control Exclusive Supplier
