Aggreko to help power Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic
Winter Games
Aggreko, the global leader in the rental of
power, temperature control and oil-free compressed air systems has
signed an Official Supplier agreement with the Vancouver Organizing
Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC).
Aggreko will provide Vancouver 2010 with temporary power and
temperature control equipment at all of the venues throughout the
Games, including BC Place Stadium for the Opening and Closing
Ceremonies; various celebration sites; the International Broadcast
Centre; the Whistler Broadcast and Press Centre; the Olympic and
Paralympic Villages in Vancouver and Whistler, as well as all
competition venues.
Olympic Games are one of the largest sporting
events in the world, and Aggreko has extensive and proven
experience in supporting them, having been responsible for
temporary power for both the Atlanta 1996 Summer Games, and the
Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games. In addition, Aggreko is currently
installing over 135MW of temporary power for the Beijing 2008
Olympic Games.
